Open competition to save money and modernize infrastructure

It is no secret that US infrastructure – roads, bridges, dams, water delivery, sewers, energy and other systems – are overdue for modernization.

It is estimated that up to $2 trillion in spending is needed over the next 10 years to bring America’s systems up to 21st century standards.

In fact, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) has given the nation’s infrastructure a dismal D+ grade.

Orange County Business Council has long recognized that without functioning infrastructure, goods don’t get delivered, people can’t get to work, and a faltering economy results. Infrastructure projects are good-paying job creators and provide for the long-term viability of the regional, state and national economy.
